Health Compliance Application

The ADP Health Compliance solution is a cloud-based platform that can integrate with many systems of record to help you efficiently meet the demands of the ACA's employer mandate and federal and state health coverage 1095-C and 1094-C reporting requirements — as well as help identify where there may be potential risk for penalties if your business does not remain compliant.

The Affordable Care Act created a need for businesses.

The Affordable Care Act includes requirements for employers regarding health care coverage. The size and structure of their workforce created a need and responsibility to provide appropriate health care options to employees which employers needed to report.

Discovery work

Through discovery work we were able to create problem statements and journey maps to help understand the workflows.  This is a critical part of the UX process that helps us understand the overall process and where more research and understanding is needed from our end users.

The challenging part in this work was that the affordable care act (aka Obamacare) was a new process to every larger employer. They knew what they needed to report to the government, but it was overwhelming for HR, Executives, Office Managers and Benefit representatives to track 500 to thousands of employees FORM 1095-C documents and their entities Form 1094-C submissions to the government.

Below are some examples of the journeys...

Whiteboarding and wireframes

Wire-framing and white-boarding are two essential tools in the UX design process. Wire-framing is a visual representation of the product's layout, showing the basic structure of content and functionality. White-boarding, on the other hand, is a collaborative brainstorming session where ideas are visually represented on a whiteboard. Both techniques allow designers to quickly iterate and communicate ideas, gather feedback, and refine the design before moving into the more detailed stages of the design process. Below are some examples of this process. I use traditional tools and digital tools on an iPad for quick visualization of ideas to communicate with team members.

Workshops

Our team would conduct workshops with business and development team members for discovery insights. Through discovery work we were able to create problem statements and journey maps to help understand the workflows.  This is a critical part of the UX process that helps us understand the overall process and where more research and understanding is needed from our end users.

Below are some photographed examples from the workshops...

High fidelity prototypes and designs

A high fidelity prototype in UX is a detailed and realistic representation of a product, incorporating design elements such as colors, typography, and interactive functionality. Many iterations of prototyping and testing with our client steering committee was accomplished.

State reporting by the Health Compliance applications has really handled the job for me. It would be difficult to keep track of all the state requirements, but ADP has handled that perfectly.

Less confusion, less labor, and less time needed to be spent when 1095-Cs are due for completion.  No requirements to navigate and figure out complicated spreadsheets to determine who is eligible and which records and/or 1095-C forms need to be manually corrected.

Gloria Langford
Manager of employee benefits, City of Cleveland.

All the state reporting is handled based on the files we send over. It helps that we can run reports and do verification on the data we send.
